Segisaurus is an Early Jurassic theropod dinosaur that seemed adapted for life in a dry, sandy environment. Though all early dinosaur predators had evolved to be quicker than the animals they replaced, scientists believe Segisaurus has features that made it extra fast.

The North American landscape where Segisaurus lived was very arid and sandy. This little dinosaur seemed to have features that would have made it well adapted to squatting down and sitting out a sandstorm. With only post-cranial remains, the exact look of this dinosaur is unknown.

Segisaurus‘ name was seen briefly on a map of the Jurassic Park brochure, but it was never seen in person. On the map, the Segisaurus' enclosure is located at the far southern end of the island where the tourist route does not connect.

The computer screens in the film don't show a "Segisaurus Paddock". Furthermore, it doesn't appear in The Game's version of the brochure or the Tour the Island site. It also isn't featured in the InGen Field Guide or InGen Field Journal.

Segisaurus was on the island during the events of the film, because was planned for Phase I.

It is unknown if there were any surviving wild population of Segisaurus after Hurricane Clarissa hit Site B.
